1. Who we are
Momentro (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a desktop application that turns your local video clips into a finished film. The service is operated by the Momentro team, reachable at hello@momentro.me.
2. What data we process
2.1 Your video files
Momentro processes your videos locally on your computer. We do not upload your footage, audio, or rendered films to our servers, and we do not have access to them.
2.2 Account data
If you create an account or buy a license, we store: your email address, a hashed password (when applicable), license key, payment status, and basic billing metadata returned by our payment processor (e.g. country, last 4 digits of the card).
2.3 Diagnostic data
The app may send anonymized crash reports and basic usage metrics (app version, OS version, feature events) to help us fix bugs. You can opt out in app settings at any time.
2.4 Website data
Our website may use privacy-respecting analytics (e.g. aggregated, IP-anonymized page views) and minimal cookies needed for the site to function. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
3. Why we process it
- To provide the app and your license.
- To send transactional emails (receipts, license recovery, important notices).
- To diagnose and fix bugs.
- To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting).
4. Legal basis (GDPR)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on: (a) contract to deliver the service you bought, (b) legitimate interest for security and basic analytics, (c) consent for optional telemetry, (d) legal obligation for tax records.
5. Sharing & processors
We use a small number of trusted vendors to operate the service. Typical categories: payment processing, transactional email, error tracking, hosting and CDN. We choose vendors that comply with GDPR and bind them to data-processing terms. We do not sell your personal data.
6. Retention
- Account & license data: while your account is active and up to 24 months after closure for legal records.
- Billing records: as required by tax law (typically 5–10 years).
- Diagnostic data: typically up to 13 months, anonymized.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures: TLS in transit, encryption at rest where applicable, access controls, and regular review of vendors. No system is perfectly secure, so we ask you to keep your account password strong and unique.
8. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You may also withdraw consent for optional processing, request portability, or lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise these rights, write to hello@momentro.me.
9. Children
Momentro is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us so we can remove it.
10. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
